"I’ve spent my life telling stories, now I help you tell the one that means the most."
A career in broadcasting taught me the importance of words, how to listen, how to hold space, and how to tell meaningful stories. Later, as a photographer at over a thousand weddings and life events, I saw how the way we mark moments can stay with us forever. That experience now shapes the way I work as a celebrant.
Becoming a funeral celebrant is a natural extension of the skills I have developed in life. It’s where storytelling, presence, and empathy all meet. I work closely with families to help shape a ceremony that is honest, heartfelt and true to the person who has passed on. Sometimes, that means helping people find the words when they don’t know where to begin; sometimes, it simply means listening.
I believe that a funeral doesn’t need to be grand to be meaningful, it sincerely needs to feel right. That might include favourite music, stories, letters, contributions from friends and family, or a quieter, reflective space. However you wish to say goodbye, I’ll help you shape a personal and appropriate tribute.
Often, there’s laughter. Always there is gratitude. In holding that space at such a vulnerable time, I respect what a privilege it is to be trusted with someone’s farewell story.
If you’d like to talk, I’m here.
